Message from the General Secretary, Academic Affairs (UG)
Congratulations, and give yourself a round of applause, for you are the new waves in this vast ocean of possibilities, which is like a window to a whole new world. On behalf of the Undergraduate Academic Council (UGAC), I welcome you all to discover your future here at IIT Bombay.
As an academic institution, IIT Bombay can and will teach you a lot of things during your stay here. The important thing is to keep your mind open and keep learning. It's truly a warehouse of opportunities where you can excel at one thing or the other. Having said this, do not forget the primary reason why you're here – your academics. Try your best to maintain a balance between your academics and the plethora of extra-curricular activities here. For you to pursue your interests with complete freedom, the academic front is the one you need to be sound at.
Lastly, your time is limited. You can fail even at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love/desire. Do your job & be humble. Summarizing in a quote: “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
Regards,
Arjun Saikumar Simha
